Brighton – An Unconventional City

Brighton is not the conventional and very British city you would expect to see when visiting the island. Its location, the see, and the many young people bring a slightly different taste.

Whether you are visiting the vibrant quarter named The Lanes with all its craftsmanship shops, restaurants, and pubs, or you are just walking around, you are more prone to think of Brighton as a continental West European city than an English one it has houses all over the places as much as office business and some port moody condos for sale, in case you’re looking to settle down in the city.

And not to forget the memorable experience of trying to eat your fish and chips at Brighton Pier. This experience is alone an assault on your vigilance, fast reflexes, and the ability to project the birds’ behavior.  Hint – they love to fish and chips and they will do everything to have a taste of what you’ve got in front of you.

Naturally, after your quick bite, you might fancy a walk along Brighton beach and you should. The steel skeleton of the old pier that burned ages ago presents a great photo opportunity and a selfie on to add. The Eye, a local attraction bringing you to a bird’s eye view of the city and the sea, is also something the tourists seek after.

Me personally, I fancy walking all the way to Hove along the beach and especially at sunset. The colors are simply magnificent. In addition, the architecture of the building along the road and the colors of the small cabins along the shore are making the view even better. I definitely recommend this walk.

Another thing that might interest you is the numerous graffiti. Brighton’s street art masters offer some of the most appealing wall canvases I have seen in years. Check my Instagram for some examples.

If you are a football fan, the local team, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., will be competing in the Premier League in season 2017/2018. A weekend visit with a game viewing might be a great idea.

The closest international airport is Gatwick and from there you need to take a train for less than an hour to find yourself in Brighton.

Bellow, you will find some photos I took while being there. Enjoy and tell me what you think!
