“The New Community Rules: Marketing on the Social Web” by Tamar Weinberg
This is probably the most comprehensive book reviewing different social networks and media channels I have come across so far. However, this is not all to it. Tamar manages to offer the lead on how to set up your social media marketing strategy from scratch. And as every good book nowadays, it leaves the ground for you to ponder how you will apply the knowledge you got by reading the book.
The only downside of the book is that it targets the social media novices or people who had not to have too much exposure to the different social media channels. Unfortunately, it is a rapidly changing environment. It will be rather difficult to dig deeper into one or two channels that might as well render the book obsolete when they are replaced by others.
So, if you are working on the client-side or you have just started with an agency in the capacity of social media executive, do read the book! Actually, everyone should read it. It won’t take too much time, you know!
