“Subject to Change – Creating great products and services for an uncertain world” by Peter Merholz and Brandon Schauer
As users, we often stumble upon poorly designed products and services that otherwise would be just a great fit into our life. Sometimes great ideas suffer from ill implementation and to be honest, this is a major turn off for me as a user.
What Peter Merholz and Brandon Schauer did in their book “Subject to Change” is getting things straight through examples and basic notions/steps when it comes to product and service design. A compelling walk through ideas and shared experience.
When every digital marketer is rather focused on all that social media and content strategy buzz, a new topic comes up. This topic, I sense to be the next big thing that will generate at least just as much buzz – Service Design.
The main postulate is that we shall all stop designing products, but rather user experiences. Trips that our customers take and they are so impressed that they would like to take them repeatedly.
I highly recommend this book to everyone that has any business with the internet and selling products and services in general. It is a must-read. And don’t worry about the constant mention of Peter’s company Adaptive Path! I stopped noticing it after a few pages.
